Welcome to the Jobeth Bowers for Central Committee
In my effort to improve the strength of the Democratic Party in Cecil County, Maryland, I have decided that the natural progression would be for me to take part in the Party’s Central Committee here in the County.
This decision has been met with great support and encouragement from many people, and I thank you all for that. I will continue to work hard for Democrats in this county; elected officials, candidate hopefuls and “regular people.” Especially the “regular people,” since not only are there more of them, but I consider myself to be one of them.
The decision to run for Central Committee is not about me, it’s about Democrats in this County, and the work I am personally committed to do to better their position in this County, State and Nation.
I hope that you will support me, and vote for me on September 14, 2010.
Join me as I support our candidates…
It’s very important that we get out and knock on doors and connect with voters. I will be knocking on doors in Cecil County a number of times in the next few days, and hope that you will join me.

The campaign really begins…
Last night at 9pm the official filing deadline for all Maryland State and County level offices was reached. A number of interesting developments in a number of races sprung up onto the radar yesterday, including some new names in the Democratic Central Committee Race.
We have an interesting couple of months ahead of us. I look forward to getting out there and meeting as many potential voters for both my own benefit, and for the candidates “up the ballot” that I am and will be supporting.
Remember: Primary Election day is Tuesday, September 14, 2010. This is MY election day. General Election day is Tuesday, November 2, 1010.
Governor’s Kick-off in Harford/Cecil a Success!
On Thursday, April 29 Governor Martin O’Malley was in Aberdeen, MD to announce/kick-off his re-election campaign for Maryland Governor to Harford and Cecil Countians.
The event was amazingly well attended, with a reported turnout of about 350 supporters. We look forward to welcoming Governor O’Malley to Cecil County between now and November, as we work to welcome him back to the State House on election day!
Here are some photos of the event, courtesy of Mike Eaves:
My advocacy trumps your misspelled sign
I am a fan of the non-violent movement. I appreciate those who stand up for what they believe in. Above all of that, I am one that puts emphasis on actually doing things, making it happen. While Tea Partiers across the country are spending Saturday morning protesting what they call a government take-over of [insert valued public service here] the true patriots of America will be advocating for good, or actually protecting this country overseas in war. Myself, and numerous members of the community will be participating in the MS Walk in Wilmington, Delaware. We will be taking positive steps to solve problems, and not holding up misspelled signs that are nothing more than uninformed threats on the country. You will continue to protest and annoy, we will continue to advocate for the future.
I challenge these so called patriots to actually go out into the communities and do something positive, something that will have an actual effect on society. It may be tough, because it doesn’t affect the bottom line in their household and their paychecks like Obama’s 2009 tax cuts did.
I am a proud democrat. Nothing that anyone says or does will stop me from sticking up for those who were dealt a hand worse than mine. I do not see these as hand outs, but as a hand up, and I welcome all within the county, regardless of political affiliation, to take one moment to do one good thing for someone other than yourself.

Kick-Off Event a success!
Thank you to everyone who came out for Friday night’s kick-off event, and helped to make it a great success! I am incredibly thankful for the support I have received thus far, and want to express my sincere gratitude to the organizations who have given me a reason to seek my place on the Central Committee.
I would also like to thank all of the businesses and candidates who contributed on a sponsorship level to make the event a great success:
I am looking forward to hit the ground running for candidates for higher office very soon. As the weather gets nicer, I invite everyone to join me in door-to-door advocacy for candidates and general voter registration! Please consider joining my text list for updates on these events!
Thanks to those who marched on DC
On Tuesday, March 9, 2010 I joined a group of 10+ Cecil Countians in a well organized march on Washington, DC to protest the health insurance lobbyists. There were thousands from around the country who met and surrounded the Ritz Carlton hotel in downtown Washington, DC to protest the insurance lobbyists plans to spend over $1,000,000 (one million dollars) on new advertising to defend rate hikes on health insurance premiums. Some photos of the event are already on the facebook page, and will be uploaded to the website soon.
